More We, Less Me - A Poem

I’VE BEEN REFLECTING ON WHAT’S POSSIBLE WHEN WE’RE PART OF A CARING, SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY. A PLACE WHERE WE FEEL SEEN AND HEARD.

I DECIDED TO WRITE A POEM ABOUT IT USING THE WORD ‘WE’ AS MANY TIMES AS I COULD. IT WAS A FUN CHALLENGE!

More We, Less Me

Turn towards the ‘we’
For you are always
welcome here.

We get it
you’re weary
weepy and weighed down by the week.

But you’re not weak.

We’ll welcome you
Your weirdness isn’t weighty
To us, it’s wellness personified

We know the weather is wet
But we have wellies
Give us a week
We’ll weave you back together.
